Meet the Broker: Ryan Naylor

Meet Broker/Realtor Ryan Naylor, the youngest member of the KBT Realty Group team, with seven month on the job, after passing his North Carolina state real estate exam on the first try. Ryan has already had success in real estate, with showings and closings.

Why real estate? As Ryan says, real estate is pretty much in the family: his mother is a Realtor, currently doing inside sales at KBT Realty; his father was a Wall Street commercial lender; Kirk Pugh, Ryan's step father, is also his Broker-in-Charge; and, his grandfather is a producing agent.

As a Millennial, the tech-friendly environment at Keller Williams is especially appealing. He sees the company rolling out new technology on a daily basis. The Kelle app puts tools at a seller's fingertips, and makes buyers' searches more efficient and focused. Ryan notes that technology can empower an agent with personalization and information that makes the best use of both real estate expertise and a clients' time.

Meet the Broker: Fred Teachey

There are a number of programs to help buyers qualify for mortgages, and more programs coming to the area every day, some specifically to assist with hurricane recovery.

Fred Teachey sells property throughout Pender County, New Hanover County, and Brunswick County. He sees that there are exciting things happening in the Castle Hayne and greater Brunswick County area. Th ...

How to Find A Real Estate Agent in Wilmington NC, and Everywhere Else, Too

Buying or selling your home, the first step is to find a real estate agent who can guide you in making decisions.

The first thing you should understand is the difference between a real estate agent, a realtor, and a broker. It’s more than just semantics:

Real estate agent: a person who holds a state-issued license to practice real estate

Licensed real estate salesperson: the same as a “real estate agent,” more commonly used term in some geographic areas

Realtor: a member of the National Association of Realtors

Broker: a real estate agent who has extra education, a specific number of hours of experience, and who may have additional certifications, depending upon the state in which they practice

In North Carolina, individuals must complete a state-approved 75-hour broker pre-licensing course and then pass the North Carolina Licensing Exam. After receiving a broker’s license, brokers have three years to complete 90 additional hours of state-m ...
